Scholarship programme of Children of Vietnam
Children or Vietnam (CoV) gives 76 students a scholarship to be able finish their study at a university in Danang (Middle of Vietnam). The students come from poor families (income level lower than €12 per month). To be able study CoV pays their college fees directly to the university. In addition, students get a monthly allowance to live of.

Who gets support from Smart Tulip
As from 2008, 8 poor students get a scholarship from Smart Tulip for their complete university education. The students are selected Children or Vietnam.

Ngo Thi Bong
Bong's mother committed suicide 7 years ago. Her father is mentally disabled and cannot look after his children. Since her mother died, she has raised by her grandfather (of fathers’ side). Bong has 1 younger brother; he did not pass for the exam to go to 10th grade and is now working in the construction sector.
In September 2008, Bong started the teachers training at the university. She lives in Danang because the house of her parents is 17km from the city. In Danang she shares room with another female student, together they pay a rent of €12 per month. Bong can pay this by the living allowance she receives from Smart Tulip. Previous school year she would have wanted do the examination for entering university, but her father had locked her up in a room to prevent that she could do this examination. He did not want her to study at the university because he is afraid they could not afford it.
Bong is a cheerful student who is happy that she is getting the opportunity to study at a university. She hopes that she can find a small job in the future in order to have some more money to live of. Hopefully she can give some tutoring to other students.
